Press & Multi-Slide Tooling

Samuel Taylor tooling uses the best technology available in order to achieve total efficiency in press-tools designed for the high-speed press user.

Proven high performance is guaranteed by Samuel Taylor who have unrivalled experience in high speed stamping. Being both a producer and user of press-tools, STL can give the client confidence that tools will be delivered fully debugged, developed and ready to run. The processes of design, model making, CAD/CAM, manufacturing and stamping are undertaken with care, quality, professionalism and real experience.

A state of the art tool room has Agie wire erosion machines, running in a temperature controlled environment for perfect accuracy. These machines are backed up by CNC grinding and CNC machining. Samuel Taylor can guarantee the highest performance of press-tools by using extremely sophisticated 3D design modelling, along with CAD/CAM from Camtech PEPS and SDRC I-deas now merged with Uni-graphics.

All progression tools from STL use the 3-tier floating stripper technique with either high quality steel or carbide cutting sections. The inserts are designed to be interchangeable. Spares can be made from drawings, therefore, minimising fitting times. STL also provides excellence and experience in the design and manufacture of special purpose assembly tools such as rivet insertion tooling modules, in-die tapping tools and in-die welding tools.

Finzer multi-slide tooling is also manufactured and used within STL. The CAD suite includes full 3D modelling with a video of the Finzer forming, slide by slide, to ensure a “right first time” approach to such products.

CAD data can be forwarded in many formats including; SDRC I-deas native, 3D IGES and 2D DXF.
